Hi, I am Hjalmer Anderson, the artistic director for HEART Repertory Theatre and past theatre arts teacher at Inglemoor and Woodinville High School.
We are establishing a new community theatre company in Kenmore, Washington: Hjalmer’s Eastside Actors Repertory Theatre—or HEART Repertory.
HEART Repertory’s mission is to engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences with productions that support our local talent in all forms of theater, including virtual and live stage work. We produce shows that range from the classics to new work and create art despite an ever-changing theatrical climate. We will train and support the integrity of our artistic staff, and locally, we support the diverse community in Eastside theater youth educational programs, promoting the importance of the arts and life-long learning. Finally, we celebrate the essential power of theatre to illuminate our shared humanity.
Heart Theatre welcomes and provide an avocational opportunity for volunteers interested in the theatre arts to participate in the many activities of community theatre. We also train and support the artistic and financial integrity of theatre professionals and promote and support the diverse local community of theatre youth educational programs to teach the importance of the Arts and lifelong learning.
During 2020 and early 2021, when live theatre was closed down by the pandemic, HEART Repertory produced online streaming video versions of Golden Age and original radio programs. This was our way to give actors a vehicle to expand their abilities and perform while sheltering at home. It revealed a collaborative, enthusiastic group ready for the next step: HEART Repertory’s live productions in the Greater Seattle Eastside.
We invite you to meet company members and the rest of our talented casts on our YouTube channel:
